Leah Penniman wrote a book called 'Farming While Black', an excellent read. Leah set up a farm in Albany, New York called Soulfire Farm and is an amazing communicator. She particularly talks from a Black perspective in terms of the relationship to land and farming in the United States.
She does it with elegance, clarity, and force that is moving. Some of the things she discusses are challenging for many, including myself.
The work at Soulfire Farm is about empowering young Black Indigenous leaders, teaching them how to farm and return to land-based activities as a form of healing. This has created a momentum shift in the United States and globally.
