But I remember a meeting with the Shambala festival team when I was about 20. They were switching to e-tickets from paper tickets, which came with cost savings. I remember the excitement that they had about passing these savings on to their customers or investing it in making the festival better.
I was totally expecting the excitement to be about making more money because that’s typically how businesses think. But this alternative way of thinking about it was inspiring and exciting. It was the first seed in my head of: wow, a business can be about more than just making as money as possible.
